Cut glass,
clear acrylic

One small studio. How a portrait is cut, lettered and sealed, and what to know before you order one.

The studio bench under a window: three finished acrylic portraits leaning against the wall, a tuxedo cat, a French bulldog and a cavalier spaniel, and in front of them a folded polishing cloth, a wooden tray of brass standoffs, a hex key, a roll of film and a sheet of acrylic with its blue film half peeled
A glossy relief portrait of a calico cat in a clear acrylic frame, standing off a warm white wall on four corner fittings above a walnut sideboard, a vase of dried pampas grass beside it and a linen sofa to the left

The material

Cut glass,
not a print

A print behind a sheet of plastic is flat. Ours is not a print: the portrait is sculpted in glossy cut glass and shaped into a relief, so it stands up off the panel and throws its own small shadow. Move past it and the light moves across the face.

The clear acrylic frame holds it a little off the wall on four corner standoffs. On a piece made from your own photo, a name or a quote can go under it, if you ask for one.

How we sell

Made here,
sold through Tedooo

Acrylune sells through Tedooo, which takes the payment, keeps the tracking and runs the preview that shows your photo in cut glass before we make it. Your card goes to Tedooo, not to us, and the order is theirs to protect until the piece is on your wall.

Questions about an order after it ships, where it is or what to do if the box arrives damaged, are answered in the Tedooo help centre, and tracking takes the order number from your confirmation.

Good to know

Shipping, returns
and care

Shipping

Made and packed in our studio, its corners protected, and tracked end to end. It reaches most addresses in about five weeks. The estimate for yours is shown before you pay.

Before you buy

Made for one person, so it is not returnable. Ask us anything before you buy and we will answer properly, usually the same day. The approved design is what we make.

Hanging & care

It arrives ready to hang on its four corner standoffs, which hold it a little off the wall. Dust it with a soft dry microfibre cloth; no glass cleaner, alcohol or paper towels on the acrylic, which cloud and scratch it. Keep it out of hours of strong direct sun.

About the studio

Who we are,
and what is Tedooo's

Who makes the pieces?

We do: a small studio that cuts, seals and polishes every portrait in clear acrylic for a single, particular pet or person. The design is drawn by Tedooo technology from your photograph; the cutting, the lettering, the sealing and the polishing are ours.

Where is it made?

In our own studio, from the first cut to the packed box. The piece leaves us in a box with corner guards and a tracking number, and most addresses see it inside five weeks or so.

Can I see one in person before I order?

This site lists no place to visit. The nearest thing is the buyers' own photographs of their pieces on their walls, 15 of them on the home page and more beside their reviews, and the create page, which draws your design in about a minute so you see it before anything is made.

How does Tedooo fit in?

Our designs come out of Tedooo's vision technology, and Tedooo runs our shop as well. Every piece is sold and checked out through Tedooo: nothing is charged until you check out there, nothing is cut until it clears, and every review is verified by Tedooo.

What happens to the photograph I send?

Two things: Tedooo draws your design from it, and we check that design against it before the first cut. It is not passed on, not posted anywhere, not fed to any model, and we remove it the day the order closes.

How do I reach a person?

Use the Contact us button in the footer. A human reads it and replies, normally within the day, and usually at more length than the question needed.
