Enter the recipient's address at checkout and the parcel is sent to them directly, in a box with corner guards and a tracking number. Give it five weeks or so door to door, and order by 15 November for Christmas. Under the portrait goes a name no longer than 20 characters, a quote no longer than 80, or nothing.

How do I have it sent to them?
Put their address at checkout instead of yours. The piece is made, packed and shipped to that address, tracked end to end, and a name goes on it only if you typed one: a ready-made quote panel carries nobody's name.
More of our pieces are presents than not, so a gift order is the normal case. Delivery and any customs duties for their address are totted up at checkout, so you see the full figure before you pay. It carries a tracking number, and the order-tracking link at the bottom of every page follows it, so you will know the day it lands even though it is not landing with you.
When do I need to order?
About five weeks before the day. For Christmas, order by 15 November.
The piece is delivered in 32–36 days once you approve the design and check out, and your order's estimate appears on the page before payment, so you can read the date off the page. Gift dates go out in the letter first; sign up and you will hear before a cut-off. The lead-time guide has the stages.
What should I write on it?
Their pet's name, their names, or a timeless line: up to 20 characters for a name, up to 80 for a quote, both in raised lettering under the portrait. Or nothing at all.
- A pet for its owner: the pet's name alone, up to 20 characters.
- A couple: Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be, signed Robert Browning.
- A family: There is no charm equal to tenderness of heart, signed Jane Austen.
- Someone who has lost a pet: Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened, signed Anatole France.
- No photo to hand: a ready-made quote panel, with nothing to upload.
The quote guide lists all twelve lines, and the create page shows the lettering drawn on the photo before you order.
How do I get a photo of their pet without asking?
Use one they have already sent you or posted. Sharpness matters little; what it needs is the face turned toward the lens with the eyes clear.
A phone snapshot of the dog on the rug is the source of most portraits. One buyer had a portrait of their grandmother's Siamese, Miso, made for her, and she cried when they hung it up. If the only picture you have shows the pet facing away, ask for a better one in passing rather than send that one. The photo guide has the checklist.
How is it packed?
With its corners protected, in our studio, and tracked end to end. It arrives fitted with its four corner standoffs, ready to hang.
The corners are where the standoffs are, so they are what the packing guards. The piece is cut for a single person, which rules out returns: that is also the reason the design is approved on screen ahead of any payment, so what arrives is what you saw. If you would like to know what the box looks like on their doorstep, write to us; a human reads it and replies, normally within the day.
Questions this leaves
Can I send a portrait to someone whose walls I have not seen?
Yes. The 30 × 30 cm size suits a shelf as well as a wall, so it does not depend on a particular wall you have seen. Either size arrives ready to hang on its four corner standoffs.
Can I order matching pieces?
Yes. One buyer ordered matching portraits of their dog, Bear, for themselves and their sister. Each piece is one of one and made to order, so draw and approve each design, and put each address at checkout.
What if they do not like the design?
The design is approved by you before anything is made, and a piece made for one person is not returnable. If you can, show them the design on the create page before you approve it; drawing it again is free until you do.
